I read the instructions and I think I have the idea on how it works. I still need to get all the connectors to test it out though. The one thing I am just a little fuzzy on is the CO2 connection. That is only used to purge the O2 from the beer bottle, correct?

Yes. Give the bottle a blast before filling. Once full, I give it another shot to force out any o2, but if you cap on foam, there shouldn't be any trouble with that.
Correct. You can run it without the CO2 hooked up as well, thats what I usually do. The small amount that leaks out the back of the gun between bottles bugs me and just before I crimp the cap on I give the bottle a quick tilt to generate some foam, purging any air remaining right before I cap.
