Default How to remove kegerator shank from tower?

So, I'm trying to remove the shanks from my draft tower so I can replace the beer lines with longer lines, and I have no clue how to get the shanks off. I don't seem to have a wrench that I can use to get around the brass nut, since there are 2 taps right next to each other. Any suggestions on the easiest way to do this? I can't be the first person who's struggled with this, but searching didn't turn up anything useful.

here is my struggle: http://www.homebrewtalk.com/f35/remo...shanks-137001/

Basically, get some needle-nose pliers and prepare to be frustrated.

Thanks for the quick reply. I don't know how I missed that thread when searching, it was just a couple weeks ago, too. Alright, I guess I'll keep fighting with it. Good to know you got yours eventually. Thanks!

Would a set of channel lock pliers do it?

Also, looking at that other thread, could you make a shank wrench?

Take a cheap wrench the proper size, and cut out a section using a dremel tool with a cut off wheel?

the problem with channel lock pliers, or any pliers but needle-nose, is that even if you can get a grip on the shank nut, you have no room to turn.

I suppose you could cut out a notch from an existing wrench, but are you really saving yourself any trouble by getting a cheap wrench, cutting a notch in it and hoping that works over just forcing your way through with needle-nose? i doubt it.

Ok, got 'em off. The needle nosed pliers worked on one of the nuts, I guess it was a little looser, and that gave me enough room to get the other one off. Thanks all!

BTW, it kills me a little bit, getting advice from a Giants fan.
