Default How fast can you force carb?

How fast have you successfully force carbed a beer?

I've read all the threads on force cabonation and the quick way to do it, but didn't see many people saying how quickly they could do it if they wanted to.

I cold crashed my primary after 2.5 weeks, it cold crashed for 0.5 weeks, so it's been a total of 3 weeks. I know it might still be a little green, but i want to serve some today. Last night i racked it into a keg and hit it with 30 PSI and shook the hell out of it. I hit it with 30 PSI again and i could hear it filling, so i know that some of it absorbed. I hit with 30 psi one last time and let it sit overnight. This morning I took a sample and it was definitely a little bit carbonated, but it needs more. So i shook it some more, and plan on continuing to shake it a few times throughout the day.

Any chance i can have this ready to serve in 7-8 hours?

I force for 48 hours and then set at serve pressure for 24 hours before serving.

You can rush it, but it won't be the best it can be.

Yes I think so. I have forced carbed my beer to satisfactory taste in about 38 hrs by setting the psi to 32 for 24hrs then reducing it to 22psi for the remainder of time. All this with no shaking. Im doing it now for the super bowl! Good Luck bduane.

Thanks! I did manage to get the carbonation to acceptable level by game time. There were some off flavored I am sure are attributed to the beer being green, but hey my pipeline was dry and I was eager to try my first ag brew!

I have since removed the carbed keg from the fridge and am going to store it at room temp for a few weeks to mature.

I have force carbed and had a pint in less than 24hrs using the shake method. However, like others have said, it leads to carb bite and some off flavors. I've noticed much better results if you can leave it on the set and forget method. But, it is possible to drink in less than 24hrs if you really work it.
