Counter pressure Blichman beer gun

Has anyone tried putting a drilled rubber stopper on their beer gun nozzle to get the best of both methods?

Yes, I did this. I'm not sure how well it really worked as I just got it and tried it out. In messing around with some test bottling with Starsan, I found that if you seal it tightly (as in a counter-pressure filler), then the beer will come out the back of the beer gun. Obviously not good. When I bottled for real, I did just lightly seal it and let the pressure lift it of and that worked fine. I'd say there wasn't any real benefit except I think it helped to hold it up in the bottle of Starsan I set it in while changing kegs.
