so after my keg has sat for a day or two at 30 psi do i drain the air down to 10 or 12 before i drink it not sure to process here

Depends on the length and diameter of your beer line, but yes.

My preassembled cobra tap has 5 feet of 3/16" beer line. It pours a little on the too-fast side at 15 psi (usually my desired equilibrium; about 2.6 volumes at 43F) and just right at 10. More beer would hit the floor than stay in the glass at 30.

now i got a new problem
so i dropped it down to 10 psi and its all foam so i drop it to 8 and its still really foamy. did i over carbonate? what do i do?

Is the beer cold?

Remember to open the tap completely when you pour.

If the beer is overcarbonated, you'll have to vent the keg and wait for the CO2 to evolve out of the beer into the headspace. See this sticky thread.
