My EZ-capped bottles turned out great, but my 12 oz regular capped bottles did not carbonize well. There’s still a small release of pressure, but not much.

I’ve since given all my 12-ozers a couple extra presses with my capper. They now have a small bump on top.

Is there something special about using a capper? I've got an old (1910) bench capper.

If the bottle breaks, it's too tight

seriously, I put them on as tight as my capper will go. If the cap turns at all in my hand (thumb and forefinger around cap, turn hard) then I pop it and recap. Usually only have to redo a couple per batch.

my flippers do seal much better overall.

Are EZ-capped bottles plastic, and allow heat to soak in faster than the glass ones? I know my beer is not carbonating this time of year due to cooler temps...
