I recently went to a local brewery and brought home two growlers of beer.. I think they are 64 oz growlers but they are screw top.. It states on the bottle to drink within 3-4 days upon opening them..

Question is:

Can I use these to bottle my own homebrew??? I cant find gasket or sealed caps for these bottles.. I’m thinking that the screw tops are not good enough to carbonate the beer in... Will any growler top fit these or should the screw top be ok???

Thanks in advance for the comments!!!

So its prob better I let these guys go.. Im not into kegging yet... Key word YET... Ive been using 1 liter PET bottles.. Ive had great success with these so have continued on this path... I dont have a capper or I would prob switch to Glass but this has been working so... The only reason I asked was I bottled my Nut Brown Sunday and had some extra beer I could not bottle.. Dont worry I did not waste it.. I had it for uncarbed... I had just bottled an IPA and was fresh out of my PET's... I graded two more cases of these since then so this will not happen again!!!

The growlers work well for brewing smaller batches of beer or creating yeast starters if you ever find yourself using liquid yeast. If you do eventually begin kegging your own beer they're great for bringing a few glasses worth of beer to a BBQ or party while still looking much classier than a 2L Pepsi bottle.
