Default Can D type connection be changed to ball lock?

I have been poking around the kegging forum to see if this issue has been covered, but couldn't find anything.

Can the fitting that connects to a keg can be changed?

For instance can a line that is fitted for D type connection be converted to ball lock?

If so how much of pain is it to do such a thing?
