Buddha tap handle??
|
|
So, I'm lookin' 'round the house for things to make into tap handles with the little do-hickey you can screw into things and make 'em into tap handles. I spy this little laughing buddha figure that I picked up at the dolla' store a couple years back. Thinkin'...."hmmmmm....Howlinowl Third Word Brewing Buddha Brown Ale.....sounds pretty good for my first brand".
Now, I can't believe that I'm gettin' this PC...but I start thinkin' that maybe, just maybe, I might offend some Buddists (Buddists is the plural, right???? or would it be Buddi????). Ya know, like I might not be too thrilled if someone took a figure of Christ and drilled a hole in 'im and mounted him on a beer faucet. Heck, I don't even know if this little figure is even anything like the real Buddha.... maybe it's offensive just on it's own.
So, whatta think? Would this be ok? Or will Richard Gere come to my house to kick my a$$??

Get many Buddists over for a drink or are you just worried that word might get out?

I currently have a Buddy Christ as a tap handle (from the movie Dogma) If anyone is going to be smited (by God, Richard Greer, Shiva, Tom Cruise, or otherwise) It is going to be me. I'll let you know if I get struck by lightning or anything.
On a side note, as a pretty strong Catholic, I also believe that if you can't laugh at your own religion, your just one step from a zealot, and nobody likes those, because we all know they do all the wrong things for what they think are the right reasons...

Besides, if Christ turned water into wine, why not let him be the one who allows beer to pour forth into your mug?

I tried to upload a pic to my webserver space before I posted, but it won't upload now.... I've recently "upgraded" (term used very loosely) to Windows XP. I just presume that my ftp software is the latest in a long line of programs that no longer work since the "upgrade"...

O'tay!!!! I reinstalled my ftp software and now it works (Freakin' got to reinstall just about everything on this 'puter). Without further ado.... I present......."ANG BUDDHA"!!!!!!
He's a little dusty.....I'll have to clean 'im up a bit.....maybe spray-paint 'im gold. He's just the right size to fit in your hand.

I figure it'll be alright - it looks like Buddha used to throw a couple back.

I'm an atheist so I feel offended by the fact that you have nothing as a tap handle at the moment. How dare you make fun of me not believing in anything! :P
