Default Bucket spigot air bubble

One of the last times I was bottling, I noticed some air bubbles flowing down the bottle filler and into the beer. They weren't the occasional tiny bubbles I've seen that were always assumed to be CO2: these were a bit larger and, when I stopped filling, flowed back up through the spigot and into the beer.

A couple days ago I was bottling another batch and I noticed the bubbles again. This time, it was at the beginning of bottling and I decided to nip it in the bud. Wondering if there was air somehow trapped in my spigot, I turned it around (upside down) and noticed a significant amount of air suddenly rise from the back of the spigot, through the beer in the bucket. I carefully turned the spigot back down and didn't have any other problems with bubbles for the whole bottling session.

What gives? Has anyone else had this issue and how do I go about correcting it? I've bottled many successful batches and only recently started noticing this. I'm wondering if an air pocket is forming in the spigot as I'm racking?

Wow, no one has had this problem? Somehow I find it hard to believe I'm the only one...

Unless you have a leak that is continually sucking in new air and a lot of it don't worry about that. It is not enough to make any difference to your beer.

I always have a little bubbling when bottling and never have any oxidation problems.
