Default Bought my tank!

So I stopped by the welding supply shop this morning that quoted me a 20lb filled tank for $90. When I got there, the price was $180. I told him that I thought that this was the right place, that I had called and was told $90. I apologized for wasting his time and started walking out. Then he replied "Who told you $90? What did he sound like?" Best I could say was "Spoke English, kind of sounded like you, but it probably wasn't you."

So he agrees to honor the quote. I got the tank for $97.88 after tax (stupid 8.75% sales tax!)

Everything else should be arriving over the next couple of days, so I'm probably on track to keg this weekend.

180?? Are you kidding me? Well at least he honored your quote. 20 lbs will last you forever.

I wonder if that line would work other places "Hi, I was quoted x-amount for this product..."

That's the hope (that it'll last me forever). Now I need to build something that will hold it upright. That thing is pretty heavy!

I keep my 5 lb in the fridge in between two kegs. It's pretty snug, so its not going anywhere. I tried it with a 20 lb blottle and it doesnt really fit well. I considered picking up another fridge (becasue noone can really have too many kegerators) and mounting the 20lb tank on the outside. Then building a small box out of 2x4's or something easy to keep it upright.

180????? I'd told him to stick up his arshe....especially after you called and obviously that wasn't company policy. Boy, that is STEEP. But, you remained cool and got what you were quoted. I like the part....english, sounds like you....you probably busted him out and he didn't want it coming back on him. Anyway, GOOD SCORE!!!!
One thing you got to check are the connections. I hooked up mine this weekend and thought I had it pretty snug, but it leaked just a tad. You can never tighted the regulator/tank connection enough. If your using hose clamps, screw the screw driver, get the ratched. I think they were quarter inch or less, but tighten the bejesus out of them. I'd hate to read a post Monday describing your pain as you lose 20 pounds of CO2.

Glad you go that settled!

I just got a quote on a mixed nitro/C02 tank - $120 and $20 for exchanges on a 20lb tank. I'm thinking that would make a heck of a christmas present

I also picked up a co2 tank this week. I got a 15# tank for $57 filled. I guess that will also last me awhile.

Lucky!! I had a quote for a filled 10 lb tank for $90.00 and when I went in the total was $180.00 + tax. Told them they quoted alot less but they couldn't find the salesman so I just left after waiting for 20 minutes. The only other place in town quoted 20 lb filled for $150.00 so I am picking it up tommorrow. They only have 1 salesman so I shouldn't get the same treatment.

Locally. All Safe in Minneapolis. http://www.all-safe.net/

The 15# was the same price as the 10# - no brainer.
