Default Bottling Belgians

I have a belgian style golden that I need to bottle shortly and I have read that it is necessary to use thick glass bottles with corks. Is this true? It is approx. 9% abv. and I plan on bottle conditioning with another yeast strain. What do I need to do to get this thing in bottles? Thanks!

Belgian styles will traditionally be served with more carbonation than other styles, and will have a little more pressure inside than a porter or english ale. I have used standard capped bottles with no problem. As long as you use the proper amount of priming sugar, you will be just fine.

Keep it to 3-3.5 volumes of CO2 and you'll be fine in regular bottles. Warm condition in a cooler if you're concerned about them popping. I use EZ swingtops which tend to bleed off anything over 4 volumes anyway.
