Default bottle priming screw up?

so i tried something different today when bottling.
instead of boiling water and mixing the priming sugar, i drained some of the finished beer, and mixed the priming sugar and added back to the batch. hoping not to dilute my precious tasting brew. did i just make bottle bombs? or will i be o.k.

You are supposed to boil to kill any bacteria and to disolve sugar. Why skip that if your beer is precious? You should be OK but I would not do that again.
