Default Boost Carbing

I read the thread, very informative. I over carbed my beer, let it sit for a week at 35psi.... Getting all foam. Was wondering how to "fix" this. Sticky'd thread says multiple purges but I don't know what that means, (I assume letting the C02 out?). I dropped my pressure to 5psi before pouring, but my question is do I turn off the C02 completely and purge it once every few hours? Or do I leave it at 5psi and do that?

-Thanks. Any help would be appreciated because my last extract brew is currently kegged and I haven't been kegging awhile and have always had problems. My first AG is on deck and I dont wanna mess around with carbing.

I'd take it completely off the gas for a couple of days, and open the relief valve to vent it every few hours (our pour a pint just using it's own pressure). Taking it out of the fridge will speed it up as well. If you keep it cold and on the gas (even low pressure) I think you'll be fighting it for a week or more - and if it's that overcarbed, you may not be able to get a good pour no matter how low you have the pressure.

Yup. No gas connection, vent the pressure release every hour for a few hours, warm the keg a bit to help the CO2 come out of solution.

If your a dare devil, open up the lid and give it a quick stir with a whisk. Be careful, it will foam up very quickly doing this.

Purging assumes your keg has a pull-ring on the pressure relief. All you do is pull the ring until it stops hissing. You can purge by pressing the IN poppet valve, but this can be rather messy.

I think its been saved. I set to 5psi and poured a glass today. had a head to it but was lightly carbed..... set to 10psi and going to use the set and forget method explained in the thread... Thanks!
