Default Best ID of beer line.

I wanted to ask everyone whats the best inner diameter size for your beer line?

I was thinking 3/8in to use on faucets.

Whats everyone's opinion?

Thanks,

Nic

I think you'll find most people here use 3/16ths. yes, that is half of 3/8ths. Unless you have really long lines, you'll do well to get 3/16ths beer lines.

Line diameter is dependent on length of run. there is no "best" size. How long is your tubing run?

3/16 is most common for us due to the short runs used in our kegerators and keezers. 1/4 would be used if you were running long lines for say, a commercial application. It determines the length you need. You need much more 1/4 line to give you the same line resistance as you'd get from the 3/16th.
For example. 5ft of 3/16th is equivalent to 19.33ft of 1/4".

3/16th's is the best for runs up to 9 feet long. Then you would need 1/4" after that, which you would probably be needing a cooling system, too.
