Default Bench capper wont seal

I've used a wing capper for years and havent had a problem. I just received a bench capper and bottled a couple six packs and a couple flip top bottles. I used the same amount of priming sugar that I always use, and the same caps and bottles. The only change has been the capper. The flip top bottles are carbed great, but every capped bottle is flat. A buddy of mine has the same capper except the bell that crimps the caps on mine is stepped. Almost like it will fit 2 different diameter caps. He has no issues with his, and he uses the same bottles and caps. Has anyone out there ran into this? Please help. Flat beer sucks!

Are you certain you have the same capper AND bottles?

There are a couple styles of bottles that have a diffeerent diameter mouth.

Also, How hard are you pressing? They will stand some good pressure with a capper.

How easy did the caps come off?

What did you sanitize with?

The bottles are the same and the only difference in the cappers is the bell That crimps the caps. I thought I was pressing pretty hard. I felt like i didnt want to press to hard or i would break a bottle. The caps seamed to come off like normal, but they didnt have the center dimple like my wing capper. But then again my buddies caps dont either. And I sanatized with iodafor. And the flip top bottles got the same treatment.

Did the caps sit on straight?
I removed the magnet on mine sinse it can pull on the cap and then it might sit crooked

You might need a new bell or are you using twist off bottles?

The caps sat on straight and it doesnt have a magnet. I've been using pry off bottles. Mostly deschutes and new belgium. Are these bells removable?

I would assume you have a threaded bell
For an emergency fix you can hot glue in the bell from the wing capper(you know how that seals already so if that dont work it has to be you)

Oh and put a little pressure on the lever so the spring dont shoot off
