Default Beer taste different after I kegged it.

I did a black IPA after fermentation I tasted it it was pretty good nice and hoppy. After I kegged it it was much sweeter. I know people say to let the beer age in bottles but does that also apply when kegging and if so I long should I let it sit before drinking?

Think of a keg a big bottle. Same rules as far as aging apply.
