Default yeast

I just want to be sure...is the yeast at the bottom of a 3 week old batch I'll bottle today useful to get another batch going today?

Can I bottle remaining yeast and put in fridge for later use?

Happy New Yar!

Monty

The yeast should be fine. Just make sure that EVERYTHING is sterile when you wash and store your yeast.

People talk about "washing" yeast, which makes it sound like more than just shoving some trub in a sterile jar. Is there more to it than that?

This is probably the best thread I've seen that makes it easy to understand and it touches on clearing the trub issue.
