Default Woohoo my yeast lives!!

So I guess I got concerned to early..... what I thought was dead yeast is today a bubble making machine, in my fermenter! I efing love making cider I was in a bad mood when I got home from work and when I snuck a peak at my drink and saw all of the bubbles and airlock making noise I just smiled. Now all I have to do is wait......

Gooooooooo yeast!

1) kickstart your yeast with sugar, not honey.

2) this would have gone just as happily as another entry in your previously-created thread.. just sayin

oh and 3) expiration dates are 'best if used by'.. when you're dealing with millions of tiny yeast cells they do take a tad bit of time to die.

Thanks I almost always use sugar and 1 gallon carboys. This is the first time I have used my 5 gallon fermenter and zero sugar. All I added was a little honey but it works and I can't wait to taste it. Thanks for the advice every bit helps I love all the info you guys have and are willing to share!
