SG readings

Alright, so I have realized that my way of filling a 2 liter pitcher every time I want to take a S.G. reading is annoying, what is the best way to measure it? Im guessing a graduated cylender, but I dont want all those markings on the side to confuse me. Any tips?
Thanks

I just use the plastic tube that my hydrometer came in...

You can buy clear, plain cyclinders on line pretty cheaply.

mine is like 2 cm wide and the hydrometer pretty much is always touching the sides :(

I'm pretty sure I've seen clear ones for sale the brew shop by me, too.
