I just ordered some new cider apple trees for planting in our southern hemisphere winter.
They are Michelin, Bullmers Norman, Brown Snout, Frequin Rouge and Journet. Any comments on these varieties would be welcome, especially from experience.
Thanks for that, there is quite a bit of good info there. I notice the yield of juice seems to be 50 - 70%. (50-70 L/Kg)
The juice analysis for same varieties varies a lot each year. I don't know how they decided when to harvest but the stage of ripeness will affect the juice a lot. Later harvest gives higher SG and pH. Brown Snout gets some good comments, love that name.
