My cider season started today!

Finally!!! First batch of 2012 is underway. done the dutch way, of course; bikes bikes bikes. From the local orchard, freshly picked, big box of elstar (right) and cox orange pippins (left). These form the base for most of my ciders. sharps and crabs to be added. also got assorted veg and 5kg pears, why not
i have nothing further to say, just happy cider season has begun.

and mushroom foraging, and big beer brewing... autumn's not so bad

first 2012 cider is ready! oaked, semi-sweet, sparkling. bottled it early to hold me over until the dry ciders and winter lagers are ready.

finale to the 2012 cider season, as i just started my only two 2013 cider fermentations last week. kept the most promising 10L jug from last year, kegged it up today for the holiday season. 13+ months old, crystal clear, and tasting pretty damn good~~!!
