Default lots of head space question.............

ive got a 7 gal ale pail......any problems with mixing a 3 or so gal batch in it and letting it ferment out? not planning on letting it sit much longer than required to ferment in the pail..............

Shouldn't be a problem during active fermentation. The CO2 will put a nice blanket over your cider to protect it.
