Hey folks! Long time lurker first time poster.... I have made a few successful ciders and I tried a new recipe this time. The recipe called for steeped tea/lime water. My question is, can lime juice halt fermentation? I only ask cause after. 24 hours I'm not seeing a lot of action in my airlock.
I did 5 gallons of Apple juice from frozen concentrate
1 cup of brown sugar
WPL 007 dry ale yeast
And then the tea/lime concoction
The recipe stated that the black tea/lime concoction would add tannins back into the cider that do not exist in apple juice concentrate
Thanks for the help!
