Homemade apple grinder

1 Attachment(s)
Stainless steel sink -$39 @ Menard's
1 1/4 (yes 1 1/4) horsepower disposal - $99 @ Costco
2 X 3 X 8 ft studs - 3 of them - ?$6 @ Menard's
Top of sink is about 3 1/2 feet.

I'm sure someone can do it cheaper and I know people can do it prettier but I don't think anyone can do it easier. :ban: I'll let you know how it works this fall.

Great idea! I wish I had an apple tree.

Will the seeds throw in an off flavor once they're shredded?

when i was a kid my dad used to use a drill and some crazy blade attachment. seemed to work great actually.

Edcculus 07-30-2010 01:36 PM

Wouldn't that thing completely tear up the apples? Kind of like a blender?

msmylie 07-30-2010 02:44 PM

How will you be able to keep the insides sanitary?

Bobby_M 07-30-2010 03:35 PM

My guess is that you'd dose the resulting puree with sulfites but you can also run starsan through the thing.
