Hi All,
Have recently purchased second hand cider press, but it has red paint on metal parts that I want to get rid off. Obviously if I repaint it should be food safe paint, can anyone recommend what I should use.

The juice doesn't really touch the painted bits very much, only the slats and the collection tray. I think most paints are pretty safe these days but paints used on kitchen benches eg polyurethane or estapol should be safe if you are worried.
I say if its not chipping off in your cider, or if your hands dont turns red when you rub your hand across it, wash it down good and go for it. I've seen some pretty nasty cider press'
