With only 55 gallons the risk is still relatively low, as you get larger the effect is greater. Just be aware and mix well to get an homogeneous distribution any time you add any solutions of different temps or density to your main batch.

Forgot to mention that when you drain large volumes of liquid out of the bottom port of a large tank like that you need to be sure there is an open air intake on top in order to equalize the air pressure inside and outside the tank. Failure to do this can cause a strong vacuum which may result in the collapse of the tank.
