Do I bottle Apfelwein and other ciders in wine bottles with corks or in Beer bottles?
This is my first year making cider and I am not sure how to proceed.
I don't plan on carbing
I was gong to add some campden tabs and potasium sorbate and then back sweeten with either apple juice concentrate or sugar (haven't decided yet)
Any input is definaltey welcome.
Either way works if you are not carbonating.
Don't ever carbonate in a wine bottle with a cork. You'll end up with a hell of a mess.
What about the sweeting
do you know wich works better.
Sugar (Honey?) is easy, and won't change the flavor too much. I would use honey...cause I'm a honey sort of guy, but either is easy enough to get and use.
How much honey for a 3 gallon batch.
I prefer a country cider as opposed to a english, irish, dry cider
