Default Cider/Apfelwein in Growlers?

After fermenting cider and apfelwein in primary for at least 4 weeks, I plan to transfer them to growlers for long term storage. Will the growlers explode? I don't plan to prime them at all.

Why do you think they'd explode if you're not priming them? Is the gravity very high or something?

I've use the flip top style growlers for carbed ciders many times with no problems.

they are definitely fine, especially if you're not carbonating in them.

personally, i ignore all the nay sayers and i naturally carbonate in growlers all the time and have never had one explode.

I do use polyseal 38 mm caps http://www.benshomebrew.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=eq38mm which create a better seal than the single use caps growlers usually come with.
