So does anybody know where i can get a 3 gal glass carboy for cheap? I know my local supermarket carries 1 gal organic apple juice in a glass carboy for $7. Good cheap price. Any leads on 3 gallons?

Also would plastic work just a well? I can get those 5 gal water cooler jugs for free and 3 gallon for $5. Whats the difference in glass vs. plastic?

Are you planing on using them for wine (long term storage) or beer (shorter term storage)?

Wine and long term beer storage works best in glass, but can be done in high quality plastic (Better Bottles).

For shorter terms (most beers), food grade plastic is fine and generally much cheaper.
