Default bottle canon

Had some holiday cyser bottled in Dickle bottles. Turned on their sides in the cabinet above the stove. The wife and I were watching a gangster flick when BOOM!, a noise from the rear of the house. I spring from the recliner, put my moccasins on, grab my gun, and walk towards the back door. Then I smell apple pie and see golden juice dripping from the hood over the stove. Not how I wanted to spend my evening ...

wow. Sorry to hear about that, but glad no one was injured. Obviously you know it now, but if there's any residual sugar, the caps on those Dickle Bottles were built for 'still' spirits and not meant to hold pressure.

I'd put the rest of the bottles in the fridge and drink asap. You might give them a "burp" before going any further. Just be careful when opening them.

Only one liter bottle left. Gonna de-gas it daily probably. Might pasteurize. Really wanted two damnit. One for the company party next week, one for next year. Looks like the party is getting straight dry cider lol

You put your mocassins on before you grab your gun? Stored you cider above a warm stove? Maybe you can save this bottle and use it as a hand grenade I shot my wife with a cork from a horizontal bottle in a wine rack, I thought it was kind of funny, her not so much! WVMJ

My moccasins were right there, basically stood up and they were on. Pistol was about 2 seconds behind... smith and wesson governor with buckshot. 410. At least I got to drink half a bottle of cyser while SWMBO bitched and I cleaned the stove. Downside is now she doesn't approve of the hand cannon being so easy to deploy lol.

Well if they aren't easy to deploy then they aren't really useful. (the mocs "or" the S&W)

Of course, if there are small curious people in the house without safety training then it's probably best to just put it back in the safe.
