Raisins: not sure if it will add nitrogen... Certainly will add lots of sugar and we do not want this...
DME: that seems to be a good idea. Can anyone give a heads up on DME nitrogen content?
Boiled baker yeast: it is good for almost everything except for nitrogen... That sucks :/

Tweake: i didn't know about that, thanks for the enlightment.

Here is a short article on nitrogen rich food:

http://www.livestrong.com/article/313163-what-foods-are-high-in-nitrogen/

I think oats and lentils sound like great sources of nitrogen, but I am not sure how they would effect the taste of your brew. But it looks like some sort of seed is what you want.

Meats and other proteins are the best source, I think eggs were once used, until we learned about dangers of salmonella.

It might be best to stick to store bought nitrogen sources...

Are you sure boiled yeast is no good for nitrogen? Almost every source I can find says that it contains amino nitrogen in faily decent amounts.

my understanding of it is yes they do contain plenty of nitrogen but the nitrogen is bound up and is not accessible to the yeast.

something you will have to watch with adding fruits/veg as nitrogen source, it may simply be in a form that yeast can not use.

My random reading points towards it being the nitrogen bound up in protein that can't be used by the yeast, and that the amino nitrogen is usable and about 25% to 50% of it. Not a great amount but defiantly there.
