If your hydrometer has a calibration temp of 60F this tool is great: http://dd26943.com/davesdreaded/tools/convert.htm

Also 1.0 (Assuming your at 1.000, putting all three numbers helps us see where your at) should be about done with fermentation. Also Around 15% abv give or take percent.

Sorry, my old math teacher always taught me that 1.000 was the same as 1.0

Thanks again for the help.

For the sake of curiosity:
Actually 1.0 can be quite different than 1.000.
Technically, 1.0 means that you measured until the first zero and guarantee that you have "one point something close to zero" and 1.000 means that you measured up to the third zero and you have "one point zero zero something close to zero".

Yup boos making needs those extra 2 numbers, even if they are Zeros. Example being is two weeks ago your mead was at 1.009 and now its at 1.004, I'd say wait, as it's still fermenting but both those numbers would still be 1.0 after rounding. but yeah, if it's 1.000 you're pretty much done fermenting.

ok, well it was a 1 gallon batch, I have just racked it over to 3/4 gallon secondary. Even though I'm pretty sure it's done fermenting(it was 1.000) should I just leave it in secondary for a few months before bottling?

Yeah, wait to bottle until you can read through it.
