Default What to ferment in?

I'd like to try making my first mead soon, but don't know whether to ferment in a 6.5 or 5 gallon carboy for the primary. Is there krausen and blowoff concerns like there is for beer? Thanks so much!

Use the 6.5 for primary and the 5 for secondary after bubbling drops to once every 30 seconds or so. Krausening is not as big an issue, though there is some. Oxygenation is not really a factor in the primary, so the 6.5 is fine. Why risk wasted mead?

Cheers!

Yoda guy pretty much summed it all up. And managed to use the word "Krausening ".
