Campden tabs come in various sizes/doses, ergo the issue with recipes which say '1 tab per gallon'. Just another reason I buy k-meta granules, plus my experience with Campden left white specks in my wine. Used k-meta and never had specks like I did with Campden. Out of curiosity, what brand of Campden do you own, and are they potassium or sodium based?

Almost every jar of sulfites, sorbates, nutrients, and everything in between that I use says right on the package how much to use per gallon. Just follow those if they tell you.

I just broke down and bought the granules. Splitting tablets in half or in thirds seems impractical. My package doesn't say. It says "use 1/3 a tablet when the recipe calls for 1." It's obviously been repackaged by the LHBS. I'm pitching the tabs. They are postassium based though.
