Sorry if this has been posted before.https://secure.avaaz.org/en/save_the_bees_usa/?cl=895632274&v=8117
There's a thread over on gotmead where this subject did come up. For reasons I outlined there, I don't know if such a ban would be beneficial or not, so before calling for a ban, I'd like to get more information on whether it will really help.
Well this http://www.telegraph.co.uk/gardening/beekeeping/8050583/Study-finds-causes-of-Colony-Collapse-Disorder-in-bees.html

I can't find any official reports in countries that have banned the treated seeds but there is this article that alludes to bee keepers and farmers noticing an absence of CCD since the use has been banned.http://www.treehugger.com/files/2010/05/nicotine-bees-population-restored-with-neonicotinoids-ban.php
Not proof, but good enough for me. Also when Germany bans use of neonicotinoid insecticides and they are the home to the company that invented them (Bayer) it raises an eyebrow.
Some of the chemicals that are registered through EPA are downright scary...
atrazine comes to mind...
