Raw honey?
What differences will a mead made with raw honey have compared to mead made with another honey?

CityOChampBrew 01-28-2013 03:05 AM

raw honey is just unprocessed honey

Smokejumper 01-28-2013 03:11 AM

will it noticeably effect the taste?

CityOChampBrew 01-28-2013 03:12 AM

if anything it would taste better imo

Raw honey is usually only strained to get out the large pieces, and it's never heated so you have pure unadulteraded goodness. It may still have some pieces of comb/propolis/bees/etc. in there and may be a little cloudy from crystalization but that's fine it can all be strained out later. If you want the purest flavor and form of honey always try to go raw.
