Default Novice Brewer

Hello Everyone,
I'm new to brewing and I really respect classic brews. I'm looking to brew myself a good mead. I'm looking for a simple and semi sweet recipe to see what I like in tastes. Also looking for something that doesn't take a very long time either. Any advice or tips are greatly appreciated. Thank you and have a great day.

mead does take a long time. a good mead isn't ready in less than 2 years. if you want a variation, try http://www.homebrewtalk.com/f80/joes-quick-grape-mead-57190/

Why don't you try a Midas Touch clone?

Or perhaps, try the Joe's Ancient Orange recipe - which is listed in the Gotmead NewBee guide, chapter 6 I think.

Mainly because it can be made from cheap ingredients from the local grocery store and minimal kit/experience. It's reasonably quick and should give you some idea of whether you want to learn more.......
