Default Mead for Sale?

I was wondering if Mead was available at local liquer stores or do I need to find a specialty store? I tlook interesting to make but before I venture into that kingdom I want to try it to see if I will even like it! I would assume you can't purchase it online since I have not been able to find an online store. Please Help!!

Chaucers is sold in CostPlus world market, which is a national chain.
Wilmington (Brandywine)
3040 Brandywine Pkwy Wilmington, DE 19803
Phone: (302) 479-7715
Store Hours: 9am-9pm Monday through Saturday, 10am-7pm Sunday

I've seen Redstone elsewhere.

You may have more luck in a specialty wine store than a liquor store a good beer selection. Check the wine areas where Muscat and other Dessert wines are sold.

Often the workers don't know they have it.

Even the best commercial mead is sub par to a homemade one.

I've tried several commerical brands and my favorite by far is Bunratty. Most of the chain and big liquor stores have it

Just find a large liquor or wine shop. They should have something. You should be able to find some online sales. Here some links. I do get from Pirtle and they have some nice Melomels.

Travis is Bunratty a local meadery? Haven't ever ran across it but will look on the net. I am in the Chicago area a few times a year and woulld like to pick some up!

If you have a Central Market (I think it is part of H.E.B.) they carry Redstone. At least the one in Houston had it. That last liquor store I tried to find it in you would have thought they were Miss Teen South Carolina on Jeapordy the way they looked at me when I asked them if they carried any mead.

mgayer,

Bunratty Meade is actually imported from Ireland--produced and bottled by bunratty mead and liquor co. in Co. Clare--I know Bennigan's restaurants keep it stocked in their bars and I've been able to find it most places around chicagoland.

Here's their website:

http://homepage.eircom.net/~bunrattywinery/

Homebrewer99--I'm jealous, I can't wait to go to Ireland--hopefully soon!

Chaucers is the only one I've found locally. SWMBO and I like it.
