Default Made a LOT of mead today!

Left To Right:
  • 3 gallons (in 1 gallon carboys) of traditional mead
  • 3 gallons of Blueberry Vanilla Melomel
  • 3 gallons of Blackberry Melomel
  • 5 gallons of Peach Melomel
The blueberry, blackberry, and peach are for our wedding next year.
I filled the peach kind of close ( I was trying to hit 5 gallons of water)...I think I might put a blow off tube on that one.

The traditional mead is for my daughter's 21st birthday.

WOW!! That IS a LOT of mead. I have never had mead. I have also never had the patience to wait for that long of a ferment time. Looks cool!

Very nice! I'm sure the guests at your wedding will love it.

What kind of honey did you use?

It was all clover honey and I got it on sale. It was 12$ for 20 lbs. The only bummer was that it came in 1 pound bottles. I had 48 1 pound bottles in my shopping cart!

It was at Smiths grocery store in Las Vegas, Nv. All the baking stuff was on sale a few weeks ago for all the holiday baking, I assume.

good choice. no sense in getting 'fancy' with honey if you're making melomels.
