Default Joe's Ancient Orange... Cyser?

Has anyone tried substituting apple juice for water in Joe's Ancient Orange Mead?

Kind of. One of my first batches was an adaptation of Joe's with apple juice in place of water. It turned out quite good for me.

I liked it a lot, very simple, but at this point I wouldn't do another mead in the same manner. Joe's is a bit too basic and "ancient" for me, I use a bit better brewing techniques and no bread yeast
