Default Fruit in Secondary Question

My girlfriend and I went strawberry picking today at a local farm. Since they were really good and fresh, I decided to buy some for my batch of mead that just happened ( ;-) ) to need to be transfered to a secondary soon.

So my question really is, how long should I keep the strawberries in there for? Is it just the normal time until I re-rack my mead (~1-3 months)??

The strawberries will turn real pale and gross looking. Once that happens, I'd rack. They float, so you don't want anything nasty to start growing on them, so remember to punch down the cap.
