Has anyone ever tried adding food coloring to mead?

What color are you trying to get? Most colors can be obtained using different natural ingredients.

I have not tried this. Though I do not believe typical food coloring contains anything fermentable. It shouldn't hurt anything.

Shouldn't hurt anything--you'd have to add a redicolous amount to get any flavours from it.

You'd add the colouring just before bottling, maybe before racking the final time so it gets gently mixed in.

I haven't tried it, but I've read that corn flowers will give a nice blue color.
