first mead this weekend

Hey make my first mead tomorrow and got one question making a 5 gallon batch can i use a 5 gallon carboy or bucket. Wouldnt use either 5 gallon for brewer a batch of beer but dont know if it the same for mead. Should i use a 6.5 gallon because it has more space. Any info would be great.
