First mead question

Made mead for the wife tonight, 1 gallon batch. What should I expect for Krausen? I have 3 inches of head space in the carboy, am I looking at a mess?

I've never gotten a krausen that comes close to what beer does. Three inch head space should be ok.

just be sure to top off once fermentation is done to minimize that headspace. The only mead I've had that made a big krausen has been Joe's Quick Grape Mead - that stuff get's me every time!
