Default Can i do this

I plan on making my first mead in a week or so. I got a kit from NB and its called Curt & Kathy's Sweet Mead Kit. Has anyone made this kit before. I was wondering if i could add fruit to this kit or think i should just make the kit the way it is.

You can, though I would recommend for your first mead just keeping to the traditional.
I've spent a lot of this year trying out different fruits and have mostly just found that the fruit changes so much that it's hard to tell if you would like it. There are ways to reduce this change (stabalise first, fruit in secondary etc) but I would at least get the basics down following the kit as it is and move on to fruity meads later on.

Yup just make sure its stabilized before bottling (or you'll have bottle bombs) and you can cap/cork whatever you like.

I made that kit in August and just bottled it in Dec.

At bottling I Sorbated and backsweetend a bit more with honey.
I also added a bit of citric acid to balance out the flavor a bit.
Seemed a little flat without it.

Good luck.
