Default anyone corking Chimay / Belgian bottles?

I have some Chimay bottles (I think, the ones with the big round lip) that I've bottled mead in and corked with #8 natural corks. Afterwards the LHBS guy told me those bottles have an opening slightly larger than a standard wine bottle. Some of the bottles I've corked that have been laying on their side appear to have leaked ever so slightly. Perhaps now they've swelled and sealed. Just curious how well they'll stay sealed for a year or two or three. I was wondering if anyone has used these types of bottles for mead before? Was curious if I could use a #9 cork on them? I have a wing-style corker (non-floor model) which doesn't work with #9s on standard wine bottles.
