1st Rack Proud new poppa
I just racked my first mead to the secondary. I am sure its old sauce to you all but I can't help my giddy excitement. I tasted it and it already tastes awesome! I was expecting it to taste like crap prior to aging. It took everything I had not to pour a glass. And alcohol... woo... let me tell you. It was almost like a melon liquor shot. High alcohol.
I can't wait to rack my blueberry now and I have a braggot must brewing right now... :tank:
4 gallon spring water
12 pounds honey
Several chopped slices watermelon
Chinese green tea leaves
2 packets E1118 yeast
Very cool! It's a great feeling when it turns out well.
Congrats man! I can't wait until my first batch is ready to rack, though I guess I have to.
