Default New from Rochester NY

Hi,

I'm a new member and home brewer from Rochester NY. I'm on my second home brew, an Brewers Best IPA, and just put it into the primary. I'm going to invest in a keg system to save time.

If I do keg the beer I assume I don't need the priming sugar since the carbonation will come from the Co2. Is that correct?

I'm using a Brewers Best kit for equipment and looking forward to getting experience and eventually trying my hand at an all grain batch.

Looking forward to learning! Happy brewing!

Correct, you don't need priming sugar, you can/will carbonate using Co2 in the keg. [Strictly speaking, you COULD naturally carbonate using priming sugar in the keg.]

There are a bunch of brewers in the Rochester/Syracuse area. Welcome aboard.

Welcome, I currently live in CT, but probably will be moving back to upstate NY over the summer. Is there many Brew shops in that area, I haven't seen any online when I do searches, I'm originally from south of Watertown. I am also using a brewers best equipment kit, found it to be very excellent choice. I have my second batch in the fermenter, my first batch is in bottles and its an American Amber, my 2nd batch is a Weizenbier. Again welcome and great brewing!

Welcome to the hobby and the group, from CO

I find with a vinator, bench capper, and bottling wand, especially when filling bombers, bottling doesn't bother me too much. But I did just get 2 kegs...
