Hi all. I am very new to homebrew. I am brewing my second batch tomorrow, IPA. First batch was a Belgian Wit...wit lot's of mistakes!:smack:
I hope you good folks don't mind my chiming in to ask some dumb questions.

Welcome aboard. You may check out the stickies at the top of the Beginners forum and Revvys bottling thread, lots of good info that will answer a lot of question you did not know you even had. How long until you bottle the Wit?

No kidding. I'm from Dubuque. I live south west of town by the airport.

I guess I didn't make too many mistakes on my first batch because its been a big hit with everyone I know. I bottle my second batch next week. Just taking a break right now from cleaning bottles.

Yay, Iowans! I'm originally from Mason City, and now live in North Liberty...we should organize a meet-up some day. Maybe we could drink beer? ;)

Neil

Welcome - NE Iowa here..... grew up in Cascade though, right down your way.
Yeah, pretty close. I don't think you'd wanna be there now...Maquoketa river is out of it's banks ...again.:(

Welcome, and we've all made lots of mistakes. Hopefully some of our will help prevent or remedy some of yours. Ask away!

Yep. Swiss Valley road and Military road are pretty much my neck of the woods. I usually don't go that way in to town unless I'm going to the west end. Most of the time I take 151 down to Locust and then get everything I want at Hy-Veer or drive up 20. Snow hasn't been too bad this year, for the second year in a row.

Yep - go there quite regularly. Decorah has a few other good bars downtown with some great selections - Was at a bar/restaurant on saturday in Decorah called The Rubyiat - they had Stone IPA, Arrogant Bastard and Ruination all on tap:) Nice options for such a small town.
